Because this one regulates it own temperature it is not so good on the heavier materials. I’m not talking very heavy material just your average thicker shirts, not even a thick winter shirt. It doesn’t produce enough steam really for a generator iron. On the whole it’s fair to say I am very disappointed with it.

The new one feels a bit less well built however the upside of this is a much lighter iron which is a bonus for those of us with wrist issues. Only real downside is the lack of power cord storage!
