We’ve gone through 2 different (well known) brand steam generator style irons during the last three years. I stumbled across this Tefal Steam Generator Iron, which was on special offer, and I decided to buy one - it’s the best decision I’ve made. The iron is lightweight with a button under the handle that you press to generate steam. The mainbase has a lock feature where you lock the iron in place to the base - the iron is now a carry handle! The steam generated is very powerful, I’ve drastically cut down my ironing time due to this little steam beauty. I would say that this Tefal Pro Express Protect GV 9224 is 100% times better than a Polti steam generator iron - we own one a few years ago, so we speak from experience.

The new one feels a bit less well built however the upside of this is a much lighter iron which is a bonus for those of us with wrist issues. Only real downside is the lack of power cord storage!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not up to the job. Nowhere near as good as my previous tefal steam generator. Because this one regulates it own temperature it is not so good on the heavier materials. I’m not talking very heavy material just your average thicker shirts, not even a thick winter shirt. It doesn’t produce enough steam really for a generator iron. On the whole it’s fair to say I am very disappointed with it.

This is a bit different but getting used to it I didn't read the tank came off to fill with water and was a little sceptical but it’s all good it could do with a holder for the plug and cord but that’s because the old one had this amenity and it’s what I was used to
